Mural for Bermondsey

On a wall near The Blue marketplace, a huge mural has been painted celebrating the history and life of Bermondsey. It has Ada in the centre.

Designed by Paul Butler, this is another of his great London landmarks ‘about the people for the people’.

The mural includes many of the things that make Bermondsey special: Peek Frean’s biscuits, the joy slide, football at Millwall, and even the local fishmonger!

In the centre Ada Salter is seen planting a long row of flower-pots, a tribute to her famous greening and beautification projects.
