A new history of the Salters

Graham Taylor is the author of Ada Salter: Pioneer of Ethical Socialism, which was published in 2016 and led to a huge upsurge of interest in Ada.

His new booklet will give a fresh account of the lives of Ada and Alfred Salter, showing how the couple functioned as a team, transforming Bermondsey and improving their section of the capital city for the working class.

It will include sections on other relatively unknown members of the ILP (Independent Labour Party). These were personal friends and political colleagues who worked alongside the Salters in bringing radical change to London: Fenner Brockway, Charles Ammon, Jessie Stephen, Joe Cragie, Eveline Lowe, Andrew Amos, Grace Kimmins.

Illustrations include unpublished photographs.

Publisher: Independent Labour Publications (successor of the IL Party).
