Service of thanksgiving for Ada and Alfred.

St James’s Church had planned an open-air service in the churchyard to celebrate the centenary, with a sermon by Canon Gary Jenkins giving thanks for the lives of Ada and Alfred Salter. Sadly due to the Queen’s death, the event had to be moved indoors and the focus of the service amended.

However, Gary did a brief interview about Ada and Alfred with Sheila Taylor, Salter Centenary Coordinator, as part of the service. And he also provided the congregation with printed copies of the sermon which he had been planning to deliver. This was very much appreciated. (The full text of his sermon on the Salters can be read here.)
